Dan and Bailey have been heading out the backyard to get us dinner almost daily! Dan is loving the fact that he can walk directly out our backyard to stir up trouble. And, of course, Bailey is ecstatic. He's turning out to really be a bird dog, which is good for the whole family. Dan was thinking he'd have to give him back and get another model if he didn't get this hunting thing down.
So now we're on the hunt for awesome duck recipes. I found one on allrecipes.com (my favorite recipe site!). It was a Worcestershire sauce and garlic mixture and it was so good. The duck tasted like a steak. Who knew? I think the secret was putting the duck in ice water for several hours to eliminate the gamey taste. Only in Alaska right? It's hard to imagine that I used to be a vegetarian!
