6 years ago today
we tied the knot! Since then, we've moved to Alaska, bought a house, got a sweet dog and became Mommy & Daddy to two amazing boys. Today I feel pretty blessed to have such a wonderful life. As I was walking down memory lane looking for a wedding picture I came across some other of my favorite pictures of us while we were dating.

This is my all time favorite photo of us before we got married. This was taken at Jen's surprise birthday bash nearly 10 years ago.
This one was taken on my birthday at Garduno's in New Mexico. This was the trip I first met all of Dan's family. :)Here is the most current picture I have of us together. (We so rarely take photos of us together these days because we have two other cuties we'd rather have pictures of!) This was taken in January. We were all fired up for UT's big game. I guess it didn't matter how much burnt orange we wore, they still lost.

Bathing Beauties
I'm pretty sure the ribs sticking out of the first picture is a big clue! You can't see any bones sticking out of my little chunk-a-monkers! Maybe I should consider not feeding him at 11 and 2 and 5am! ;) Yep, you're calculating that correctly, Jaeger Ray has now moved into 3 hour chunks. What a big boy!

Pterodactyl
Yes, blog reader(s), Jaeger Ray has taught himself to scream like a pterodactyl. Not just the piercing pitch, but the air-raid siren volume as well.
Thankfully, we no longer have any rodents in the house, but having a bullhorn 3 inches from my ear can be a bit trying at times. However, all is forgotten in a single moment, when I see this adorable face...

*Yep, those are sweet potatoes all over his sweet little face. :)

Movie Monday!
My favorite part of this movie is the end where Dane says "someday." We're not exactly sure where he learned to say that, but it's adorable.

Movie Monday!
Look who's learned a new trick!
He can't sleep through the night or sit up on his own, but cruising around to get a toy is no problem at all for this little man. :)

SNOWZILLA!
Here you can see the snow come pouring down, which it continued to do all Friday afternoon.
(And, sadly, now it's all gone!)

Home Depot Kids Workshop
A trip to Home Depot is a pretty big deal in our household! Dane loves to spend time trying out all the drills, wearing the headphones and seeing all that big equipment. Lucky for him, Daddy needs to go quite often. Today's trip was extra special when they stumbled upon the Kids Workshop. Dane geared up in a signature orange apron and got to hammer his little heart out making the cutest rain gauge.

And as I mentioned above, we can't get out of Home Depot without swinging by the drill section.
The boys had a great time and are already looking forward to the next Kids Workshop next month.

Educational activities gone awry..
As Dane is getting older, it's fun coming up with educational activities for us to do together. Unfortunately, he's not the best student. He is easily distracted and definitely has a mind of his own. Here are two activities we did this week where Dane and I had completely different ideas of how to approach the project.
#1 - I took a paper towel roll and wrote the numbers 0-9 on it and I wanted Dane to match numbered stickers to the number on the tube. Here's how the activity began.

And this is what it turned into....
If you look closely you can see the sticker under the number 8 by his mouth and you can also see the number 7 with no sticker because we lasted about 30 seconds with how I thought the activity should be done. ;)
Dane also thought it would be fun to play with the transparent backing from the stickers. This was wild entertainment for him and he ran around the dining room table for quite some time covering his eyes with the paper.

#2 - To practice fine motor skills, I thought it would be fun for Dane to use tweezers to move around puffed balls in an ice cube tray.
Here he is so engrossed...

although those pictures are very deceiving because this is what happened to the balls after about 2 mintues...

A little dose of reality!
This is my life these days....
*By the way, that disgustingly dirty muffin tin held the most scrumptious Apple Strudel Muffins. Give them a try - you won't be sorry. :)
I'd like to blame it on the fact that I've been sick and that Jaeger has still been waking up EVERY 2 hours, but honestly our lives seem to be more like this than not and I've come to accept that I'm not - wait for it - PERFECT. So far from it in fact. My new motto for 2010 is keeping it real! So, in the interest of keeping it real, I thought I'd share with you that mound of dishes above, and what Dane and I did to remedy the situation! We were at the kitchen sink for nearly an hour, but it was a huge hit with Dane. The first thing he wanted to do when he woke up the next morning was wash dishes. Lucky for him, there's always more. :)
