Ode to Auntie Jenna

Okay, so it's not an actual poem. It's a couple of paragraphs about how Jen is so awesome and "Ode to Auntie Jenna" sounded more exciting than "Auntie Jenna's Visit."

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED having Auntie Jenna here for a few days last month!! If it were up to me she and her sweet family would be moving into the house that is up for sale right next door. Our days would be filled with kids madly running around the house while we sit in our jammies drinking French Vanilla Coffee Mate with a splash of coffee in it (yep, you read that correctly - it's a little disgusting just how much we actually disguise our coffee!) Alas, that is most likely never going to happen, so I must relish in the memories we made while she was here.

For those of you that don't know Jen, she is the kindest and most loving person I have ever met! She left her own babies at home to come help out our growing family. I thought she'd spend time holding Jaeger, entertaining Dane, doing some laundry, making dinner, etc. Not only did she do all of that she actually (are you sitting down?) slept with Jaeger for 3 nights and would bring him to me when he needed to be fed so that I could get some sleep! Now, that's love! In fact, I'd venture to guess that Jenna loves my kids just as much as she loves her own.

Loving on Jaeger Ray

Jen's birthday was the day before she arrived.

Airplane rides (not happy that Jen introduced this very tiring activity to Dane, but we'll forgive her - see the above paragraph!)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
We love you Auntie Jenna!

2 gorgeous sweaters for 2 gorgeous boys!

Jaeger's sweater was made by my job-share partner Kris and Dane's sweater was made by Nannie. I am in awe of their talent and creativity!
Thank you ladies.

Our little Hollywood*

Went in to check in on Dane and this is how I found him!

Look closely, and you can see his sunglasses under his chin! What a goofy kid. :) As most of you already know, Dane is quite attached to these sunglasses and wears them around 24/7, but they have now mysterious disappeared (to a high shelf in the pantry!) The glasses were making him break out right above his cheek bone - I guess that's one side effect to wearing these glasses ALL THE TIME! I imagine his sunglasses will make a reappearance right before our Mexico trip in a few weeks. Until then, we'll have to endure the question "Glasses go?" over and over and over and over.....

*While my sister was here, she lovingly dubbed Dane "Hollywood". Dane has also been called Hollywood by a few Juneauites around town when they see him. He's always getting a comment about his sunglasses (and yellow boots!)

Fire trucks anyone?

Graham crackers + red died cream cheese + pretzels + dried apricots + one lone red M & M (and the rest that were in the two bags I had to open to find the one lone red M & M) = one very messy fire truck!

Oh what fun being 2 is! :)

And here is a video of Dane pointing out all the parts of his fire truck.

Halloween - Hollywood Style!

In true Hollywood form, Dane had costume changes on Halloween. Here's outfit number 1 for Trick-or-Treating at the Mall. This happy boy is passed out on the floor in a sugary bliss! (And that's pretty Hollywood too!)
Look closely and you can see sticky Tootsie Pop goo on his chin.

And outfit number 2 for Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood. Dane definitely brought a smile to all of the people he came across. Our next door neighbor dumped the entire bowl of candy into his bag because she couldn't get over how adorable he was! And another neighbor down the road grabbed his face with both hands and said he was the most precious thing in the world. How sweet! But the funniest part of the night was when instead of a "Thank-You" Dane's response to someone putting candy in his bag was "1 more!" Of course, the neighbors happily obliged to his request.

By the way, this adorable sheep costume was made by our very own Nannie and also worn by Dane's two favorite cousins - Yaya and Bubba! And yep, Jaeger will proudly wear it in two years too. :)
