Thanksgiving Flashback!

Well, it's about stinkin' time! :)

Despite the fact it's taken me nearly 2 months to post pictures, we had a FABULOUS time in Rocky Point with Dan's family. It was so nice to get some time to just hang out with everyone. Dane especially loved spending time with his cousins - well, let's be honest - he especially LOVED all the "atees" (ATVs), motorcycles and randomly walking into vacationers RVs.

Jaeger just loved being held and stared at by everyone who needed a baby fix.

It was awesome having Thanksgiving dinner outside and thanks to Margie & Amy we had a traditional meal. That's quite a feat with their tiny stoves and kitchens in their trailers.

Look at this adorable couple! Happily married for 50 years. :)

Oh my gosh, who let's their kid watch World Word in the middle of the RV park? Ummm....we do! It was nice to have a few minutes without chasing Dane who was chasing after all the ATVs and motorcycles!

Zachary passed along his coveted fire truck to Dane and it was an immediate hit! Amy also brought the cutest fireman's outfit to go along with it and everyone had a blast playing with the accessories.

Unk Tim and Auntie MmMm getting their Jaeger fix. As you can see, he loves this "squish" that Auntie MmMm gave him!

Playing football with Uncle Dan

And the best part of Dane's trip....

Driving the ATEES! At this exact moment his world could not have gotten any better.

Look who's eating!

The idea was that the rice cereal would help in our quest to increase his sleep at night, but it didn't seem to work one tiny bit! Oh well....good thing he's so cute or we'd have some serious trouble at midnight and two and four and six.... One day I'll get full nights sleep.

Goodbye 2009!

What a wonderful year this has been! Here are a few of my favorite moments.

Of course, this sweet chunk-a-monk ranks in at #1. He just turned 5 months old and he is still the sweetest happiest baby and life is so much better with him here!

This little man is also #1 and makes our world a lot more FUN! He's a crack up these days as exhibited in the above picture. He went around and sucked on all of our toes and he thought that was just hilarious! (And so did we!)

Dane has gone through quite a few phases this year. Here are some of our faves....

Hollywood!

Ms. Tina's yellow helmet phase. I think he wore this helmet around for about 3 months!

Wearing Daddy's shoes and his "man purse!" He still loves to wear our shoes, so that phase isn't quite over yet.

I despise these yellow boots!!! And the darn things still fit him. It would be fine with me if someone came over and stole them. ;)

This lawn mower was a HUGE hit and he wanted to play with it night and day the entire summer!

Being outside was (and still is) Dane's favorite thing to do. I believe this phase is how bribery in the Hubert household began. To avoid the kicking and screaming, I could be overheard saying, "I'll give you a chocolate chip if you can come in nicely."

The Cozy Coupe phase.
This sweet little car was the source of the WORST melt down Dane has ever had. I had to literally drag him out of nursery school kicking and screaming because he didn't want to stop playing with this car. Lindsi was our hero for finding one for Dane to have at home and this put an end to the nursery school blues.

The cooking phase - Dane still LOVES to cook which is not so good for our waistlines as our favorite thing to make is, of course, cookies. :)

Ward Air.
This is still one of Dane's favorite places to be. Who wouldn't want to be there with all the forklifts, planes, van, tools and helicopters? It's Juneau's version of Disneyland for Dane!

We were blessed with so many visitors this year! Here are some of our favorite pictures from those visits.

Dan was sick for all but one day in Puerto Vallarta for Jim and Margie's 50th wedding anniversary, but he still managed to get in some quality time with Dane at the pool. (Just once though - poor guy!)

As you can see we are pretty blessed!
Here's to another fabulous year.

Our Christmas Celebration

We spent Christmas Eve with our good friends, Wendy & Curtis. Dan spent the morning hunting for ducks and the boys and I spent the morning cooking a different bird (turkey!) I've only made a turkey a few times and every time I do I feel so grown up. And a big thank you to my mom who probably took about ten phone calls from a frazzled daughter that never remembers how to make a turkey! The dinner was delicious and the company even better. After dinner we headed to Wendy and Curtis' church for their Christmas Eve service. They had a wonderful service filled with children ringing bells (yes, Dane got to participate), a puppet singing "Mary, Did You Know" and congregation members reading and singing throughout the service. We then headed home to all put on our new Christmas jammies, read The Night Before Christmas and then headed to bed.
Here are a few photos of Christmas Eve.

Our Christmas morning began with reindeer sausage for breakfast. So wrong, but so tasty - a new Hubert tradition.

Once Dane was allowed to dive under the tree (in true Hubert style, Dane was forced to wait until all the camera equipment was set and ready to go) he did most of the opening of presents and he loved every minute of it! Although, once he found the box filled with airplanes and helicopters it was difficult to get him to open any more as documented by the second picture below. Thank you to all the people that sent us wonderful gifts for Dane and Jaeger. They were spoiled rotten and Dane is still asking to open more presents each morning.

Note to self: Next year buy Christmas jammies with a little more pizazz!

Merry Christmas!

Despite the fact we had to wait until 9:04 to open presents (see video below!) we had a fabulous Christmas. The only thing missing was our family and we missed you all dearly but we loved that we got to see many of you on Skype and visit with the rest of you on the phone.

*Disclaimer - You'll have to watch the video sideways (sorry!) but it's only 35 seconds and it's totally worth it. Dane is hysterical!

**And now for a quiz. Who can guess what Dan was doing in the background while poor Dane had to wait to open presents?

Merry Christmas Eve

Here are a few photos from our recent trip to see Santa Claus. Dane was thrilled to see Santa arrive in a "ha-cock", but not so thrilled to see him up close and personal. We didn't want a repeat of last years picture, so Dane doesn't have a picture with Santa this year. Oh well. He does, however, really like to sing "Santa Claus is Coming To Town" and "Must Be Santa" but is quite adamant about not liking him. Whenever he is asked about Santa his response is "I do not like Santa Claus!"

The excitement of it all!

Who needs Santa when you have drills?

This cutie didn't seem to mind Santa one bit.

And just for good measure, here is a reminder of how Dane felt about Santa last year.
