Sunday Snapshot

This is now Dane's preferred spot to go potty! That's what camping will do for you. (Thankfully, I caught him before he wanted to go poopie!)

A Hunting They Will Go!

Look who made the Juneau Empire!

Yep, that's Bailey and our friend Erik. The other guy in the back -- that's Dan. :)

Two Things to Note -
1. They're clearly not being safe! Shame on them for not wearing helmets. Dane would definitely not approve. ;)
2. Notice that Erik is towing a baby bike trailer. Don't worry there are no babies in there, just guns and ammo. ;)

Sun, sun, sun!!!

The weather here in Juneau has been incredible! We've had sunshine and 70 degree weather for a week straight and the forecast shows more of the same for the next week. Since I knew about this awesome weather from the forecast, I challenged myself on Monday to see if I could go do something super fun with the boys each day.

Here are our photos of our super sunny week.

Monday
We went for a bike ride on the Airport Trail and the best part was watching Daddy take off from the float pond. In the picture below you can see Daddy "waving" to us with the airplane wings!

An extra bonus was watching the all the construction equipment in action! They are expanding the runway at the airport, so this is a little boy's heaven! ;)

Tuesday
We hiked the Auke Lake Trail with Grandma Wennie. Dane was able to hike the whole way (it's only about a mile long.) But the only way we could get him to not complain was playing hide and seek the entire way back! Here he is in action. :)

Wednesday
Castle Park!

I just love this picture of Jaeger Ray waiting for Dane to come out of the slide!

Thursday
Mount Roberts Tram
We went up the tram with my good friend Angie and her two kids (Hayden & Riley.) They all had a blast. Here's a picture of the boys looking out the window. Can you tell which one is Dane?

Here they are trying to find the perfect hiding spot!

What's in the mystery box?

The view from the top.

I didn't think there was any blueberries left in town, but Dane found some!

And here's his sweet blueberry face on the way down!
Friday
All this sunshine and fun has gotten to me and I'm sick! ARGH! So I didn't feeling like doing anything major this morning, so we just played in the front yard. Although, this is still pretty fun for my two lovebugs. ;)

Jaeger Ray absolutely LOVES this Little Tykes car! He actually cried when I had to take him out to head to school. :(

Here's Dane playing "squirt the fire!"

The best part about being home this morning was seeing Daddy circle around the house in the plane.

Sorry for the picture overload! It's hard to just choose one from each day. :)

Sunday Snapshot - "It was the NUTS!"

As Grandma Lorraine used to say, "It was the nuts!" I fretted way too much as this trip was nearly perfect! We have lots of pictures and many fun stories to tell, but for now I'll leave you with this cute picture of Dane and Daddy on the flight over to Taku Harbor.

**Thanks for all the positive vibes you sent our way! I'm certain it helped make our trip wonderful. :)

Are we NUTS?

We'll be staying here on Friday & Saturday night.....

with both kids!!! I know - it looks really cool, however this is just a one room cabin with a stove, a table and that pretty much sums it up. Oh, and it's on the water! Now, if it were just Dan and me I wouldn't be nervous (we met hiking after all and many moons ago, I actually lived in a tent for a summer), but going with 2 kids (actually, I should say 1 baby!) makes me VERY nervous. I'm pretty sure Dane will be the easy one and he'll have a blast. In fact, here's what he says about out impending trip...
"We're going to a cabin and there's only ONE room. They don't have any toys, so we have to use rocks as toys. We are going to pretend to eat rocks outside. Maybe we should throw balls outside when we wake up. We are going to fly in a float plane and it's very far away in the forest. We won't see any bears." Needless to say, Dane's super excited.

Now, this guy.....

is a whole different story.

Sure, he looks all sweet, innocent and happy here, but I'm not too sure how he'll do in the wilderness. I imagine he'll eat lots of dirt, try to put rocks in his mouth, crawl straight for the water, and basically keep Mommy & Daddy running after him all day long. Then I'm certain he'll keep us up all night as he won't be able to fall asleep if we're all in the same space. (We definitely tested this out from previous vacations and he does much better in his own room! My mind is racing back to California and recalling him waking up every 2 hours just to say hi and since you're up Mom, I'll take some milk please.)

So wish us luck on our little adventure! And if you have any words of wisdom, we'll take those too. :)
