In need of a little laughter?

This might just do the trick!

Finally another Movie Monday!!!

I know, I know, I'm sure you've all been wondering where Movie Monday went. I have been taking videos (and pictures for that matter too), but things have been a bit crazy around here and I haven't had time to really blog. :(

So, here is a new video for you.

Major disclaimer:
This is one of those "let's brag about how brilliant our child is" videos.
But it's just been so amazing to see how Dane has taken to sounding out words. The other day there was a box of Ziploc bags near him and he read what the box was! And we just opened up a big box of Daddy's Dr. Seuss books from when he was a kid and Dane was thrilled to sound out some of the words. Here he is in action.

Easy Peasy

Lemon Squeezy (as my students would say!)

I'm referring to this guy's surgery of course.

Today really couldn't have gone any smoother.

Rosary arrived at our house at 6am to play with Dane and Daddy, Jaeger and I we were off to the hospital. The short stay surgery staff was wonderful and Jaeger's nurse, Lena, was especially sweet. She gave Jaeger this adorable white seal that he really loved as you can see below.

The actual surgery only took 12 minutes! And Jaeger was only away from us for about 30 minutes. He was a little disoriented while coming out of the anesthesia, but not nearly as bad as Dane reacted when he had this surgery 2 years ago. Jaeger drank his milk and cried for maybe 10 minutes. Once we were out of the hospital he was back to his sweet self.
Jaeger's ears were still so infected that this surgery gave him instant relief from the constant pressure that he's been having for the last 5 weeks.

The great thing about this surgery is now when Jaeger has an ear infection, we'll definitely know because his ears will drain instead of pool up in his ear canal and cause all that painful pressure. Also, we'll be able to give him antibiotic ear drops instead of oral antibiotics, which we've found have absolutely no effect on him. Unless they pull out the big nasty Rocephin shots! This last go around Jaeger had to have 2 nurses administer 2 HUGE shots - one in each leg. Poor little man still has 6 bruises on his sweet chunky legs. :(

I'm just thrilled to finally have this guy back...

Back to his old tricks!

Feeling well enough to put a small Lego in his mouth!

And here he is in the process of throwing things from the counter on to the floor.

Yep, I'd say he's feeling better.

*Although, our trip to Dr. Rastor concluded with us scheduling Jaeger's ear tube surgery. (This was to be expected - it definitely runs in the family. You may remember that Dane had ear tubes as well.) His infection from the 14th still has not completely cleared up with a 10 day dose of antibiotics and 2 doses of shots! He's back on oral antibiotics and is scheduled for March 31 to have his surgery. Maybe this means I'll actually get some sleep in April.

Two steps forward, many steps back!

We went to the doctor yesterday morning and found out that in addition to the flu bug that Jaeger has, his ear infection from 10 days ago had not cleared up one bit! So he had to have an antibiotic injection. He's so miserable - it just breaks my heart.

He's too tired and sick to even play with his beloved fire truck!

We did manage to get a few smiles out of him after a short nap.

*Can anyone else tell he's lost weight in his chipmunk cheeks?

Sadly, today wasn't much better. His day started off by getting another antibiotic shot and to make matters worse he's been throwing up again and having diarrhea.
Hopefully, tomorrow will be better! We're going on Day #6 now!
We just want our sweet mischievous Jaeger Ray back. ;)

Still not a 100%

But he ate that piece of bread and it stayed in his tummy!! I'll take that small victory. :)

More Fun in the Snow

Here are a few more pictures from yesterday's awesome day (until around 5pm when the vomiting began. More on that below!)

Sadly, all this fun came to a screeching halt and Jaeger is officially sick. I was hoping it was just the sugar overload, but our poor little man has thrown up a few more times this morning and can't even keep Pedialyte down. Thankfully, Dane is at school right now so it's nice and quiet for Jaeger Ray. I've never seem him so mellow. He's just been hanging out in my arms. He finally fell asleep and I'm hoping he'll get a good nap in to kick this fever and whatever virus is running through him.

Hopefully, he'll be back to this smiley guy in no time.

Until then, I best get to the 3rd load of laundry of the day! Every time Jaeger Ray throws up I have to throw his blankies in the wash. He sadly reached into the dryer to try and grab his beloved airplane blankie as I was putting it in to dry.
Poor guy has to use his back-up blankie!
