Our first two days of summer have been SPECTACULAR!!! Saturday was a fun filled family day. We started the day by going to the Home Depot Kids Workshop. The boys really love going each month. And Jaeger is finally getting to the point where he can participate! Then we went to Family Fishing Day at Twin Lakes. DiPAC releases 10,000 salmon into the lake just for this event. Unfortunately, the boys didn't even catch one of those 10,000 but they had fun nonetheless. (Although, Daddy did catch 2! And the boys thought that was pretty cool!) Our day finally ended with an afternoon birthday party with the most amazing bounce house. The boys were in heaven and bounced for nearly the entire two hours they were at the party. Needless to say, both boys were EXHAUSTED and Jaeger Ray even fell asleep in Daddy's chair when we got home. So cute.......
After we got home from Brotherhood, Daddy and I were able to go on an afternoon date! One major perk with Daddy being a pilot is that if there is room on other airlines in town we can fly for free. This applies to the helicopter companies too! So because today was so absolutely beautiful, he called and we were able to get on a flight seeing tour up to the Taku Glacier. It was AMAZING.
After our helicopter tour was finished, we continued to play tourists downtown. We sat on the dock and watched the float planes come in, held hands as we window shopped and then had a couple of pretty yummy burgers at Raven's Cafe. On the way home, Dan stopped to show me this little gem he'd found recently.....
It took us no longer than 5 minutes to walk to Salmon Creek Waterfall from our car! Juneau never ceases to amaze me with its constant beauty. We sure are blessed to call it home.
Natasha and her gang not only took our boys on a moments notice so Dan and I could go have our fabulous date, but they also invited us over for a bonfire and S'mores. What a great way to end an amazing day!
