Sunday Snapshot

This is my new favorite picture!!
(And, yes, they are in Dane's crib together!)

Wee-oooo

Dane is in love with fire trucks these days, so we decided to take him by the fire station. At our local fire station you can just pop in and if they aren't busy they'll give you a tour. So with donuts in hand and a very eager 2 1/2 year old we were off. Our firefighter tour guide was awesome (and his name is completely escaping me right now!) and he did a great job explaining everything to Dane. Dane pretty much walked around with a stunned expression on his face - he was slightly overwhelmed as he got to see fire trucks, ambulances, two airport firetrucks, an ATV and all the gear (boot, hats, etc.) But he was definitely in Heaven!

Here's Dane before we went in showing off his ambulances.

Listening carefully.

It's a lot bigger than my play firetruck!

Getting to drive the firetruck!

Group shot!

And his favorite part - driving the ambulance. I think we have a future paramedic on our hands.

Movie Monday!

This video is truly only for the Jaeger Ray die-hard! If you actually watch the whole thing you definitely deserve a prize. It's the little accomplishments that get us going around here though.

Sunday Snapshot

Isn't that the sweetest face?
Besides being sick, we had a fantastic weekend!
(Thankfully, it's just me that's sick.)
Kids Workshop at Home Deep, visited a petting zoo, yummy samples at Costco, a trip to the park, sunny afternoons in the sandbox and riding around the front yard in our wagon.
Oh, and I got to take an awesome nap today - thanks Daddy!
Life couldn't get much better than this.

One very cool sandbox!

Dane LOVES to dig (duh, he's 2), but the only place we had for him to dig was underneath our rhodendrum in the front yard. It's a wee bit tight to be digging in that space, so Daddy decided to build him a sandbox.

After about a week & a half, a dozen or so trips to Home Deep, several coats of varnish, and meticulous planning, we have an awesome sandbox for Dane and his friends. The best part is that most of the sandbox is made from recycled wood from our deck railing we took down last summer! Here are a few photos of the process.

This is probably my new favorite photo of Dane & Daddy. So cute! I love how engrossed Dane looks.

Here's my measly contribution!

Leveling!

15 bags of sand + 3 bags of gravel = HOURS of entertainment
(or so we hope!)
