Sunday Snapshot - "It was the NUTS!"

As Grandma Lorraine used to say, "It was the nuts!" I fretted way too much as this trip was nearly perfect! We have lots of pictures and many fun stories to tell, but for now I'll leave you with this cute picture of Dane and Daddy on the flight over to Taku Harbor.

**Thanks for all the positive vibes you sent our way! I'm certain it helped make our trip wonderful. :)

Are we NUTS?

We'll be staying here on Friday & Saturday night.....

with both kids!!! I know - it looks really cool, however this is just a one room cabin with a stove, a table and that pretty much sums it up. Oh, and it's on the water! Now, if it were just Dan and me I wouldn't be nervous (we met hiking after all and many moons ago, I actually lived in a tent for a summer), but going with 2 kids (actually, I should say 1 baby!) makes me VERY nervous. I'm pretty sure Dane will be the easy one and he'll have a blast. In fact, here's what he says about out impending trip...
"We're going to a cabin and there's only ONE room. They don't have any toys, so we have to use rocks as toys. We are going to pretend to eat rocks outside. Maybe we should throw balls outside when we wake up. We are going to fly in a float plane and it's very far away in the forest. We won't see any bears." Needless to say, Dane's super excited.

Now, this guy.....

is a whole different story.

Sure, he looks all sweet, innocent and happy here, but I'm not too sure how he'll do in the wilderness. I imagine he'll eat lots of dirt, try to put rocks in his mouth, crawl straight for the water, and basically keep Mommy & Daddy running after him all day long. Then I'm certain he'll keep us up all night as he won't be able to fall asleep if we're all in the same space. (We definitely tested this out from previous vacations and he does much better in his own room! My mind is racing back to California and recalling him waking up every 2 hours just to say hi and since you're up Mom, I'll take some milk please.)

So wish us luck on our little adventure! And if you have any words of wisdom, we'll take those too. :)

Sunday Snapshot Take 2

Daddy came home with these lovely treats tonight!
He certainly knows how to cheer me up - wine, flowers and Bullwinkle's popcorn!
Oh, and coming home to take care of the kiddos so I can blog. ;)

Best part about Sundays

......chocolate donuts after church! :)

Jaeger got to try a donut for the first time today and if you look carefully, you can see the remnants on his tongue. I'd say he liked it! ;)

Home Depot Day!

What 3 year old little boy doesn't need one of these?

Yep, it's a football stand! A great place for Dan's old Minnesota Vikings football.

Dane, as usual, had a blast hammering, gluing, screwing and building. Besides Ward Air, Home Depot is his favorite place to be.

Not quite ready for hammering, but Jaeger Ray still loves coming to watch.

As much as Dane loves doing all the manly things at Home Deep, I think his favorite part is the cookies...
And I'd say Jaeger Ray likes that part too. :)

Our little preschooler!

When did my little firefighter lovin', goggle wearin', motorcycle lover, Manch dippin', M&M sneakin', sweet baby boy become old enough to enter preschool? Seriously, when did he go from this....

to this....

It's hard to believe that Dane had his first day of preschool today. He was such a big boy! He immediately ran to the rice table and then began pointing at all the fire related items in the classroom. Dane really wanted Mommy & Daddy to stay, but he didn't cry when we told him that school was just for kids and just like a big boy he said, "You always come back." A couple of hugs and kisses later we were heading out the classroom door. Of course, Dan had to take a few more pictures and Dane turned to him and yelled, "That's my Daddy!" Very disruptive, but oh so cute! Through watery eyes and a few sniff sniffs, Mommy & Daddy reluctantly left the building and let Dane begin his educational journey.
