Dane has eyes for Sarah!

With all the recent Sarah hoopla, we couldn't miss the annual open house of the governor's mansion! Even though we didn't vote for her, we were still star struck. She was cordial and particularly good with Dane, which surprised us, since she has 5 children that she apparently does not spend any time with. She even held Dane's binky during a few snapshots. The most excited person from our family - - without a doubt, Dan. He thinks she's a HOTTIE! :)

Snow Day?!?!

Well, not quite, but every school aged child and teacher were sure praying for that to be the call! There is still a winter storm watch until 3pm this afternoon and "they" were predicting from 12 to 20 inches of snow. Here at our house we've gotten about 7 inches and that will probably be about it as it's stop snowing. Here's a video of Dan snow blowing our driveway this morning. Dan complains about having to do it, but I think we all know that he secretly loves doing it!! Just look at the smile on his face. ;)

ARGH!! I've tried uploading the video 4 times and for some reason it just won't work. :( So, you'll have to settle for a cute picture of Dane watching Dan snow blow the driveway.

Brusha, brusha, brusha

Dane is in love with his toothbrush! Who would have thought that he would love that? He gets so excited when I pull it out each morning.
He sits in his swing and brushes away while I brush my teeth. It's too cute.

HAPPY BOY!

Turkey, potatoes and a side of karoke

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Anchorage with Dan's cousin Kim and his family. Here are a few of the highlights (besides the amazing feast and hosts of course) ...

Kim bought Lisa a karoke machine for Christmas last year and I think it was worth every penny! We had such a blast singing song after song. There was a little Frank Sinatra, CCR, Wham and Dan and I even did a duet from Grease.

As you know, Dane absolutely loves kitchens and Kim and Lisa's was no exception! He spent the majority of his time in there causing all kinds of havoc. He came across this bag of potatoes and was in heaven.

Dane LOVES cats and playing with one up close and personal was such a treat for him. Paws wasn't having the best time, but he was a good sport nonetheless.

And, of course, SLEDDING! I think it would be safe to say that the biggest baby was ME! I screamed the entire way down, but I sure had fun. I didn't get the best pictures, but you get the idea! :)

Here are Dan, Dane, Kim and Lisa at the top of the hill.

Here are Dan and Dane on their way down...

And here they are at the bottom. As you can tell by Dane's stunned look, he wasn't so sure about this whole sledding thing.

And, we're finally home! We had a blast celebrating Thanksgiving with family. Kim and Lisa sure know how to make us feel welcome. I think we may have just started a new tradition. :)

Wonderful News!

I'm thrilled to say that my Auntie Tina opened her eyes on Sunday and has been able to follow simple directions from the doctor and family members. She had another surgery yesterday and that went well. Her next surgery is scheduled for this weekend. We hope she is on the road to recovery. What a true blessing! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Prayers for Auntie Tina

This blog started as a way to chronicle Dane's daily life, but it has evolved into a little more than that including updates in the Hubert household. In keeping with this spirit and also serving to explain why the blogging has slowed recently, I wanted to mention that my aunt (my mom's only sister) is critically ill in Seattle. She had gastric bypass surgery on November 17 and while recovering at home she lost consciousness due to complications and has not emerged yet. We ask that you please keep your thoughts and prayers directed at our sweet Auntie Tina.

Someone's Tired!

The pictures say it all!

If that's not begging for sleepy time, I don't know what is!
