At peace

As I gear up for the last day of school today, I'm thinking back to all the tragedies that have taken place this school year. Many dear friends have lost loved ones this year and to say the least, it's been a tough year.
As summer begins I wanted to take time to reflect on my beautiful big brother. He was such a sweet and loving soul. At times it's confusing and hard to understand, but I'm finding peace with it all as I know that he has finally found peace for himself. I will miss so much about him, but above all his sweet face and laughter will remain in my heart forever.

I love you Little Lee!

Funny Friday

A recent conversation between Dane and Daddy.

Dane: "There's a bad guy in the living room."
Daddy: "How do you know there's a bad guy in the living room?"
Dane: "It's Mommy, she's not listening to me. "

I guess I better start being a better listener, so I can become a good guy! ;)

Seriously?

It's hard to imagine how this little man can even remotely have a smile on his sweet face!
Last night was HORRIBLE! We were up all night and really didn't know what was going on with Jaeger. Daddy described it like your alarm clock going off every 20 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG!!! We'd soothe Jaeger and then 15-20 minutes later he'd be screaming again. We were so confused. Well, about 3:30 he finally threw up and that cleared it up, or so we thought. He finally went back to sleep at 5am after completely getting everything out of his system and woke up with an ear infection in his left ear. The great thing about tubes is that all that gunk drains out his ear so it's really obvious if he has one. Thankfully we had a follow-up appointment from Jaeger's ear tube surgery with Dr. Rastor this afternoon.

And I'm so thankful we had that appointment today because we found out his right ear is rejecting the tube and is completely inflamed with another ear infection. There wasn't any gunk coming out of his ear because the tube wasn't working. We're pretty sure that was why he was up all night long last night. Most likely it will be another long night as we have to wait until tomorrow to have the first of three antibiotic shots administered!!! ARGH. And we thought we were in the clear.
Jaeger's next ear surgery will be scheduled for some time next week. Dr. Rastor is seeing when he can squeeze us in under such short notice.
So keep our sweet little Jaeger Ray in your prayers. He definitely needs it!

Spring has NOT sprung!

This is what we woke up to this morning...

* Ooops - It's April 11, not April 10 as I said in the video!!
** And yes, that's Dane asking to pee on the grass. He still LOVES to pee on the grass. A big thanks to Daddy for introducing him to that last summer while camping.

Here we are just last week soaking in the sun at the Harborview School Playground. (Notice we are the only people there!!! I love being able to work part time and being able to spend the morning with my 2 favorite boys in a virtually deserted playground as all of the other kids are busily learning in the rooms behind those walls. I'm so lucky.)

**All of the snow had disappeared by the time we got home from school today. Perhaps, spring is just around the corner as we had hoped! I'm ready to see my bulbs pop up. :)

Worn Out

Apparently, building a planter basket at the Home Depot Kids Workshop and then visiting a Coast Guard Boat (more pictures to follow) was too much for our little man. He actually fell asleep while eating his snack.

Snowzilla - Take 2

You may remember that Dan and the boys made the most amazing snowman last year. If you need to refresh your memory, click HERE.

Well, the opportunity presented itself a few weeks ago to make an awesome snowman myself. Dane and I were playing outside in the snow and it was the perfect consistency for a snowman. I was pretty impressed with my California self coming up with this masterpiece.

Sadly, our Snowzilla is now gone (and has been for quite some time!) I'm sure my Juneau friends are laughing at this post as winter seems so far away these days! In fact, with all this beautiful sunny weather Snowzillas accessories have finally emerged from under all that snow. Spring has definitely sprung here!
